Easy Peasy 4 Ingredient Protein Bars

I don’t know about you, but I love having a protein bar on hand. Especially when sitting down for a meal is still miles away. They keep me satiated, but they can also cost a pretty penny.

The particular type I love are about $3 each but the quality is great and the flavors are amazing. They are low in sugar and high in flavor…two of my must haves in a protein bar.

I usually toss a bunch in my grocery cart each week so that I am never caught without a back-up in my bag. However, they definitely add up and can easily blow my grocery budget if I am not careful.

The Solution

One day it dawned on me that I could probably make them myself. It couldn’t be that hard. So, I decided to do some research and see what I could find.

After looking at a bunch of different recipes and some more complicated than others, I came up with an easy peasy 4 ingredient recipe and now I am sharing it with you.

Ingredients:
2 scoops of your fave protein powder
½ cup oat flour
½ cup nut butter
½ cup honey

Taste before you form them into bars and adjust as necessary.
Mix ingredients all together and form into a ball.
Use parchment paper to roll out mixture into a rectangle and cut into bar shapes. You get about 8 bars.
Store in an airtight container, divided by parchment paper and toss into the fridge for about an hour.
The longer in the fridge the firmer it will be. You decide on what texture you like best. Enjoy!

What About Other Flavors?

The beauty of making your own protein bars, is that you can customize them however you want. If you wanted to make them more exciting, you could easily add some dark chocolate chips or some nuts for texture.

The options are limitless and they only stop with your imagination.
